In my game, I picked this one - the Petty Kingdom of Holmgarðr, led by the famous King Rurik: In its place was a plethora of smaller tribal realms.
I'm starting this game in the year AD 867 - when, of course, 'Russia' as we know it today didn't exist yet. Since my previous game was in India, I wanted to play this game pretty far away from there. It was also the fourth time I played a complete game of CK2 right the way through to 1453, which isn't a lot for a game I have over 900 hours on (usually, I either get bored of the playthrough and quit, or it gets nuked by an update!)Īnyway, a new version of CK2 was out, and I wanted to start a new game. It was really rather successful: I managed to establish an empire running from the Arabian Peninsula to the east coast of India. So, I just completed my Kingdom of Gujarat playthrough.
