Papy also revealed that there will be between five and seven different multiplayer maps with more modes also still in development. Players had to fend off one another while making sure the cranks and chains held tight.

The Cyclops was ensnared in chains, which required fastening from cranks placed around the map.

The game mode, known as ‘Domination’, pitted 8 players together in a 4v4 match-up where the two teams had to battle to restrain a titan-sized Cyclops and obtain the Spear of Olympus, which will be used to defeat the opposing team and Cyclops. However, each player did wield a chain-based weapon, similar to that of Kratos’ Blades of Chaos. Battling and acquiring experience points will allow players to gain access to new weapons, abilities and add-ons.ĭuring the demo, a variety of spears, swords, hammers and shields were shown, although it’s not clear which weapon is attributed to which god. Each god grants special abilities, weapons and armor to the created character. The created characters have a choice to worship one of four gods: Zeus, Poseidon, Hades or Ares. In a recent press event, Papy showed off a demonstration of the game’s competitive multiplayer, which allows players to create their own Spartan warrior.

With the reveal of God of War: Ascension still rather recent, game director Todd Papy has unveiled the newest addition to the god-killing franchise – multiplayer.
